Success is more about being diligent than anything else

I would love to say the first place I turn for direction in my life is the Bible, but that’s not completely true all the time. However, I have been seeking wisdom there a lot lately and praying through several scriptures about the direction of my business and some major life choices.

These scriptures are all based around one central topic, diligence. So I’m sharing them with you in hopes that they give you a baseline for developing in whatever area of your life you are needing to grow. Maybe it’s something like what we talk about here: finances, personal development, leadership, etc. Or maybe it’s something else like your marriage or prayer life.

Regardless, I have learned that seeking wisdom is always a great thing to do. I try to ask for council in most every situation, particularly when it comes to big decisions. And I’m finding that being diligent in whatever I do is where I will find the reward that I desire.

So no matter where you are in life right now, know that scripture clearly points us to a life of being diligent to achieve the success we are being called to. I would love to hear your story or help where I can so feel free to subscribe and reach out if wish.

Scriptures on how to achieve success

“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.”
‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

An inheritance gained hastily in the beginning will not be blessed in the end. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭20‬:‭21‬ ESV)

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. (‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭18‬ ESV)

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬ NASB)

The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭24‬ NASB)

He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who pursues worthless things lacks sense. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬ NASB)

How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭6‬:‭9-11‬ ESV)

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭5‬ ESV)

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭31-33‬ ESV)

Wrap up

As it turns out, success is more about being diligent than anything else. It’s more about seeking the will of the Lord than our own. And it’s more about being patient than we would probably like.

Whatever your goal, stick with it and eventually success will come.
