Social Media and Ignorance
So what is social media…really?
People try to make it so complicated. Like it’s some sort of new thing that we’ve never heard of before. Like Twitter is complex and completely out of their league or realm of expertise.
I am Jared Latigo, a husband, father and Christ-follower, who's passion is doing things right, doing things intentional and growing every day. I believe that we were all put here for an incredible reason and that our passions are a gift that allow us to fulfill a particular life plan. Also a pretty avid fan of sandwiches.
So what is social media…really?
People try to make it so complicated. Like it’s some sort of new thing that we’ve never heard of before. Like Twitter is complex and completely out of their league or realm of expertise.
In a world where we are constantly bombarded by companies, individuals and products that offer great “value”…the true meaning of the word is often lost.
Value is in the eye of the beholder. Or in this case, the purchaser. It is often said that the value of something is X number of dollars (or yen, pounds, etc.) But nothing can hold a particular monetary value that is the same for each person.
The day has come.
The day we’ve all been waiting for. Okay, maybe just me…but it’s still here.
If you’ve been involved with me at all, you understand my passion for changing the world. I’m not into taking it over like Pinky and the Brain, but changing it, that intrigues me.
It’s disappointing when people don’t live up to your expectations. But who’s to say that your expectations are something they need to live up to anyway?
What if we quit caring about what other people thought so much?
As I read the blog of Seth Godin and some of his ideas, I can’t help but wonder how weird people thought he was several years ago when he first started out. Did they shun him for thinking he could change everything?
I’d venture to say yes.
